Do you want to be a hometown hero? Come out to the first-ever Homeward Bound Mega Pet Adoption Event this weekend and save our strays!
More than 15 animal rescue organizations and animal shelter facilities will look to you to help place 250 homeless pets in new loving and caring homes in San Bernardino County. Low-cost vaccinations, micro chipping, and lots of family activities will also be available.
This special two-day event will serve as a pre-cursor to the County's participation in the ASPCA Rachel Ray $100K Challenge. Having already won the nomination for one of 50 competing shelters in the country, thanks to your votes, the County will work through events like the Homeward Bound Mega Pet Adoption Event to save at least 300 more animals between August 2012 and October 2012, than the same period in 2011.
With our goals set for this weekend and the ASPCA Challenge, our eyes are on an even bigger prize - the chance to save so many more homeless pets by winning the $100,000 grand prize.
I attended the event this past weekend. It was wonderful. All the animals were kept under shade, in tents. The County provided big industrial fans/coolers to keep the animals comfortable and they announced on Saturday that over ninety (90) pets found new homes just in the first day. You could tell the many rescue groups that support the Devore Animal Shelter and the County. They were there helping to find the animals new loving homes. Kudos to the County of San Bernardino for providing this first annual event.
ReplyDeleteIt was pretty awesome!!
DeleteI was there too. It was one of the best events for adoptions I have seen. Kudos to the County, the Humane Society, and Yucaipa Animal Placement.
